Hikes
Hike to the summit of Blue Mountain. The trail was rugged and rocky, but well marked. It had rained the day before so everything was wet and muddy. I took a pretty relaxed pace and reached the summit in about 2 hours. On the summit is a old fire tower. The view from the fire tower is fantastic. (See the Photos!)
As you approach the summit the trees start clearing offering some great views of Blue Mountain Lake, Other peaks, and out to the horizon.
Fire Tower at the summit offers some amazing views.
A state wildlife management area, with decent walking and biking trails. Trails are well maintained and dry. Love coming here with my dog. There's a 100 acre man made marsh, forests meadows, streams and ponds. Lots of wildlife and plant life. A family of Bald Eagles has a nest at the center of the marsh.
Marsh overlook, great vantage point for seeing the Eagles nest to the south in the cluster of trees.

A man made berm and concrete dam to slow the flow of water and control the marsh size. This provides a great lookout point to the bulk of the marsh. From here I have observed Bullhead Fish, Minnows, tadpoles, frogs, Butterflys, Dragon Flys, Canadian Geese, Mallard Ducks, Red Wing Black Birds, Finches, Sparrows, Barn Swallows, Hawks, and Bald Eagles.
Videos from this point:
Grass lands, streams, and mature forests. A nice hike, not technical. Some of the grassy areas are narrow and quite tall so use proper tick precautions. A few muddy spots but the trails were well marked and well maintained in most areas.
An old farm implement abandoned at the edge of the forest. I imagine this was likely used until it broke down and was left just off the fields.
A mature forest with great canopy cover, large trees, lots of wildlife.
Just south of Big Moose Lake, a scenic hike across streams and past ponds. Hiked this in the autumn and was able to enjoy the changing leaves. The trail was well marked and maintained.
